Featured by Architectural Digest and written by Komal Sharma the article sheds light on COS's first India store at Select Citywalk, New Delhi — a 2,100 sq.ft. space reflecting the brand’s minimalist, functional, and elegant aesthetic. The design blends clean lines, natural light, and refined materials, embodying COS’s timeless philosophy of precision, restraint, and craftsmanship.

There is a not-so-secret community of Cos stores loyalists among architects and designers in India. An acronym for Collection of Style, the ready-to-wear fashion brand is chic, comfortable and timeless, hence a natural favourite. The tailoring is precise, all lines are constructed meticulously, the fabric falls superbly, and the colours range from staple black, navy and khaki to pops of lemon and tangerine. Annual trips to Milan Design Week will always include a pitstop at the Cos stores, and there are those who will buy the same pair of shirt and trousers, Roman sandals and that one-off oversized dress, every single time. The sweet trick is that a Cos dress can easily be accessorised with your mother’s pearl necklace or that handloom scarf from Amba Weave.

Part of the H&M Group, Cos opened its first store in Regent Street in London in 2007 as a higher-end sibling of H&M, and ever since, it has nailed the formula of style and utility. Over the years, it has constantly partnered with the art and design world as well. At Salone del Mobile, we’ve seen installations of Cos done with some of the coolest studios like Nendo and Sou Fujimoto Architects. It has been part of the Serpentine Galleries’ Park Nights series in London and André Fu did an installation with it in Hong Kong. After 239 physical stores worldwide, Cos has opened its first store in India, in New Delhi.

A 200-square-metre space in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk Mall, the design is in the same vein as its stores worldwide—quiet and functional, rooted in modern culture. The store opens with Cos’ autumn/winter 2025 collection—scheduled to be showcased at New York Fashion Week in September. What Cos does best is to be the classic staple but with a sense of humour. And it is quality that lasts long enough that one needs fewer pieces. Now, with Cos in India, will the ritual of looking for a local Cos store during travels end? Probably not. Did I say fewer pieces? Read the full article here
