Project Highlights

Eka is a store for an eclectic collection of Indian lifestyle products that reflects the culture, art, craftsmanship and diversity of the country and its people. The objective of the new store design concept was to create a unique retail space that allowed the brand to deliver a unique shopping experience that is memorable and differentiated.

The brand has a wide range of products which include divinity idols, wall art, metal sculptures, figurines, tribal art, stories in slate, poetry in wood, apparel bags & foot wear. As the design evolved, different zones for each product group were created in line with the blueprint of the existing house. The bedroom became the apparel section, the living room the divinity section, the backyard for outdoor furniture & stone sculptures, and so on.

Harvesting natural daylight through maximum means possible was key in the project. Artificial lighting on external frames and accent driven forms were the basis for majority of the lighting design, creating a homely mood within each room. Within the building, civil and budget constraints, we created a flexible display furniture system which could be used throughout the store for various product groups.
